What is the regional anaesthesia course at Simulation.Tirol?

Our regional anaesthesia course is a real workshop. Our training courses are maximum practice intensive. In this course you will not see any slide shows, but you will be yourself for 2 days continuously sounding and stinging.

You will learn in own blocks for upper extremities, lower extremities and procedures close to the spinal cord how to find and infiltrate plexuses exactly without damaging the nerves. You’ll learn how to sound perfectly, position and guide the needle.

On the Kadavar and gel pads you can train, practice and refine your technique lifelike. If you miss it, you will experience it lifelike. If you hit the nerve – as well.

Special gel cushions imitate exactly the haptics of human tissue during the stitch. This makes it possible for you to train so long and so precisely until you have mastered the guidance of the needle perfectly. Even performing procedures close to the spinal cord such as spinal anaesthesia or obstetric PDA (peridural anaesthesia) will no longer cause you any worries, as you can try it out as often as you like.

In the regional anaesthesia course, you will also only be instructed by experienced senior physicians who themselves come directly from the practice. So you can be sure that your training will be at the highest level.

What can you do after the regional anaesthesia seminar?

  • Perfect handling of ultrasound equipment
  • Targeted finding of the most important plexuses and nerves
  • Positioning and guiding the needle
  • Infiltrate the plexuses without damaging nerves
  • You are proficient in procedures close to the spinal cord (spinal anaesthesia, PDA etc.)

What participants say about the regional anaesthesia course

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the great regional anaesthesia course last weekend.
I really liked your concept with the intensive and practical exercises in small groups. Although I have some experience in regional anaesthesia, I was able to take along so many new things, as well as many tips and tricks, which will certainly help my team and me in my daily work. Moreover, your cultivated appearance and the pleasant ambience made the advanced training a very instructive and well invested event for me.

Prim. Dr. Bruno Reitter

Anesthesia Primary, Hospital St. Johann in Tirol

It was a pragmatic, practice-oriented event in which, due to the small group, there was more than enough time for practical practice. Also beneficial was the competence of the trainers, who passed on their knowledge in a collegial discourse without any missionary claim. Thank you

Dr. Bernhard Eller

Anesthesiologist, Hospital vienna new city

One can describe the course with “practice and questions” without end. The course is absolutely practice-oriented and allows the acquisition/deepening of the course contents in small groups. The trainers are absolutely experienced and pass on their experience from their daily practice. I did not take part in short, theoretical introductory lectures on the respective blockade techniques/e.g. on the respective extremity. It cannot be assumed that all participants have the same previous experience.

Private Doz. Dr. Corinna Velik-Salchner

Management anesthesia, University Clinic Innsbruck

I found the small size of the group and the relaxed atmosphere without any pressure to perform during sounding and stinging very pleasant. During the course you always practice together with a regional anaesthesia expert and always have the opportunity to ask “stupid” questions. One can get in the course many useful Tipps from the experts of the Simulation.Tirol and gets thereby a very good practical entrance.

Dr. Brigitte Schleich

Anaesthesiologist, self employed

A weekend to ask questions, practice and try out, a weekend to really get into regional anaesthesia: that was my hope when I signed up for your course – and she wasn’t disappointed. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the intensive learning in small groups, for your competent mediation and last but not least for the good cooperation – all this made the weekend very pleasant.

Dr. Lucia Buchner

Anaesthesiologist, KH St. Johann in Tyrol

The regional anaesthesia course of Simulation.Tirol was an absolute highlight. Competent support in small groups for learning ultrasound-supported nerve blocks and vascular access according to the current state of teaching in a friendly environment provide the ideal framework for professional training at the highest level.

Univ.-Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Lederer

Anesthesia Senior Physician, University Clinic Innsbruck
